Board moves into closed session to discuss county administrator recruitment and property matters

The board voted to enter a closed session at the end of its Jan. 6 meeting to discuss personnel matters, specifically the process to fill the county administrator position, and to discuss acquisition and disposition of county-owned property where open discussion could harm the county’s bargaining position. The motion cited Virginia Code sections 2.2‑3711(A)(1), (A)(3) and (A)(8) as the legal basis for the closed session and passed by roll call.

County Attorney advised the board that it would meet in the current room and that action, if any, could be announced at the 7 p.m. continuation meeting. The board recorded its roll-call votes and then recessed into closed session.
