Kossuth County board approves cash on hand, acknowledges 2025 wages and appoints drainage attorneys

At its Jan. 6 meeting, the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s cash-on-hand balances as of Dec. 31, 2025, with figures read into the record (auditor $0; recorder $200; sheriff $0; treasurer $1,813.73). The motion to approve cash on hand was moved by 'Specter' and seconded by 'Wachter' and carried by voice vote.

The board acknowledged the offices’ and employees’ respective wages for calendar year 2025; the spreadsheet was in the meeting packet and no questions were raised.

The board also moved and seconded to appoint Jim Hudson and Robert (Bob) Goodman as the county’s drainage attorneys for 2026. Members briefly discussed the attorneys’ likely workloads and geographic location (Ames versus Des Moines/Fort Dodge) and said they had no objection. The board voted to approve the appointments.
