Lewis County legislators elect Dahlhoff as 2026 chair; committee rosters announced

Legislators on the Lewis County Board of Legislators elected a chair for the 2026 term and set committee rosters during an organizational meeting. After nominations closed with one candidate, the board directed the clerk to cast one ballot and declared legislator Dahlhoff duly elected chair for 2026.

The board then announced committee memberships and chairs. Josh Levicker will chair the General Services Committee with Tom Osborne as vice chair; Tom Kalmus will chair Human Services with Herb Frost as vice chair; Jessica Moser will chair the Financial Rules Committee with Jeff Nellenback as vice chair. The presiding officer also listed members for planning, highway, emergency management and other standing committees, and named representatives to outside boards including the Adirondack Park Local Government Review Board and Fort Drum regional liaison assignments.

The meeting included a brief invocation and the pledge of allegiance after Dahlhoff assumed the chair. No contested leadership votes were recorded beyond the single voiced opposition during the chair vote. The board proceeded to adopt its organizational items and resolved to move ahead with upcoming committee work for 2026.
