The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors directed county staff to contact several architecture firms and request proposals to evaluate feasibility, costs and design options for a potential emergency response complex.
Supervisors identified candidate firms during discussion and asked staff (Phil and Carissa) to coordinate walkthroughs of the existing facility so interested firms could prepare comparable proposals. The board emphasized that proposals should include feasibility analysis, cost estimates and consideration of ambulance egress and operational needs.
Board members discussed the value of having multiple firms view the facility together so all proposers receive the same information. Supervisors also noted the need to involve hospital partners in later cost discussions and said the first step is a consistent, comparative proposal and feasibility review from architects.
Staff were asked to copy the board on outreach e-mails, schedule walkthroughs over the coming weeks and return with proposals and cost estimates for the board to review prior to any design or construction decisions.
