LaSalle County committee forwards Patrick Walsh nomination to full board to fill late Tom Walsh’s seat

Chairman Johnson asked the committee to forward a nomination from the LaSalle County Democratic Central Committee recommending Patrick Walsh to fill the seat vacated by the late Tom Walsh and requested a motion to send the recommendation to the full board. “I’m making recommendation and would like a motion to forward it to the full board,” Johnson said.

Miss Bernal moved to forward the nomination and Mister Small seconded. Committee members signaled assent by voice vote and the motion carried.

The committee record notes the recommendation came via a letter from the LaSalle County Democratic Central Committee and that Patrick Walsh is expected to be on the ballot for the primary; the committee’s action was a referral to the full board rather than a final appointment. The full board will consider the nomination at a subsequent meeting.
