Committee recommends approving $317,000 bid to install lights at Dunbar Field

The Cheyenne Finance Committee on Jan. 6 recommended that the City Council approve a contract to install new field lighting at Dunbar Field in Lions Park.

Jason Sanchez of Community Rec and Events told the committee the city received a $150,000 rec‑mill grant and a $150,000 grant match for the project and planned to cover the remaining approximately $17,000 with community facility fees. He said the bid before the committee (agenda reference SDash7Dash26) is for the field lighting installation.

Councilman Esquivel moved to accept the bid not to exceed $317,000; Councilman Moody seconded. Committee members commented on the condition and age of the existing lights; the committee recorded three affirmative responses and recommended approval for the Monday meeting.

Note: the meeting agenda lists the bidder as "Bull Mountain Electric Incorporated," while the project presenter referred to the contractor as "Pole Mountain Electric." The transcript records both forms; the committee did not resolve that discrepancy during the meeting.
