Staff updates committee on comprehensive-plan implementation tracker

Staff told the Business and Economic Development Committee that the city has compiled a tracker to follow implementation of comprehensive-plan actions across housing affordability, environmental policy and economic vitality. The tracker, initiated in 2024, will be updated regularly and staff said the city plans a five-year review to assess which items still reflect community priorities and which actions should be reprioritized or retired.

Councilors asked whether staff have measures to evaluate policy effectiveness and whether multiple policies could unintentionally work at cross-purposes. Staff said the five-year review is designed to assess effectiveness, update metrics and resolve policy interactions.

No formal action was taken; staff will continue maintaining the implementation tracker and return findings as part of regular updates.
