Commission amends liaison assignments and elects officers for the year

The commission considered Resolution 6 to apportion commissioners as liaisons to boards and committees. Commissioner Alex DeWitt moved to amend the resolution to make Commissioner Mark Zanotti the liaison to Bay City Public Schools; the amendment was seconded and approved by roll-call vote.

After the amendment, the commission approved the resolution as amended. The roll-call votes for the amendment and the final resolution were recorded in the meeting minutes.

The commission then conducted officer elections for the coming year. Commissioner DeWitt was confirmed as commission president (uncontested). Commissioner Runberg was nominated and accepted the vice-presidency. For sergeant at arms, Commissioner Craig Coakley was nominated and retained his seat after a roll-call vote: the vote recorded five in favor and four opposed before he was declared elected.

The commission took no controversial action beyond the personnel and liaison adjustments and adjourned for the evening.
