Long Beach council elects Bridal Finn as president, names Chris Fiamara vice president

Following the induction program on Jan. 1, the City Council of Long Beach held a brief special meeting to elect council leadership.

The city clerk called roll, recording councilmembers present. A councilmember moved to add the name of Chris Fiamara as temporary president (vice president); another councilmember seconded the motion. The council voted in favor and the resolution passed.

A subsequent motion added Bridal Finn as president of the city council and was seconded; the council again voted affirmatively and the item passed. After the votes, the newly elected president and vice president addressed the council briefly and the meeting was closed.

The motions were procedural organizational actions to assign council leadership for the upcoming term. Vote details were read into the record as 'yes' from the councilmembers present and the items passed. The clerk recorded the results and the council adjourned to the reception.
