Council approves PennDOT winter maintenance agreement and $13,593.20 parks purchase

At the Dec. 8 meeting Bethel Park City Council approved two public‑works items: a winter maintenance service agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (PennDOT) and the purchase of field fertilizer/seed from Walker Supply Inc. for $13,593.20.

Councilwoman Flynn moved to approve the PennDOT winter maintenance service agreement for snow piling, salt, and related operations; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll call, 8–0. Flynn explained the agreement reimburses the municipality for snow‑piling and salt operations performed under the PennDOT arrangement.

Flynn then moved to approve the purchase of MVP mix fertilizer/seed from Walker Supply Inc. for $13,593.20, to be charged to general fund line item 01451552. Councilmembers noted the purchase was made early to obtain a discount; the motion carried, 8–0.

Both items were approved without amendments; records show no public comment on either action.
