Jennings County approves appointments, payroll and prior minutes; corrects executive-session date

Jennings County meeting business included appointments, routine approvals and a date correction for a previously recorded executive session.

Unidentified Speaker 4 moved to appoint Scott Smith to replace Eli Brown on the area planning board and noted the appointee must also serve on the BZA; the motion was brought forward for approval. Tom (speaker 1) and other commissioners supported processing appointments and keeping existing board assignments unchanged where applicable.

Tom noted that Dr. Linda Hefner’s four-year library board term (noted as ’25–’28 in the record) had expired and that the board reappointed her.

On administrative matters, Unidentified Speaker 4 moved to approve payroll claims and prior meeting minutes; motions were seconded and the board approved both items unanimously. Tom corrected the date on an executive-session entry (from Nov. 12 to Dec. 19) and the corrected minutes for both the executive session on Dec. 19 and the commissioners’ meeting on Dec. 18 were approved.

With no further substantive items raised during public comment, the board adjourned by unanimous consent.
