Supervisors demand weekly operational updates from All Points Broadband as build accelerates

Supervisors used the broadband discussion to press for more detailed, operational reporting from All Points Broadband (APB) as fiber construction moves into the county. Board members said the county now has roughly 12 months remaining in the initial build window and asked for weekly updates showing where crews are working, how many road miles are completed, which customer service areas are being hooked up, and what subscriber outreach will look like.

One supervisor said the board had seen differing figures for the first‑phase plan—an earlier 180‑mile commitment versus about 120 miles of middle‑mile fiber reported in a later discussion—and described that as an unacceptable discrepancy for a compressed schedule. The board asked county staff and APB to produce a clear communication plan (door hangers, emails, postcards, a hookup timeline and a map), and requested APB attendance at the county’s broadband committee or a January meeting to provide an operational briefing.

County staff reported daily crew reports exist but said the reports are not tied to a single macro plan. Supervisors asked that APB provide maps of planned and completed miles and a schedule for subscriber hookups—particularly to ensure residents receive promotional pricing notices (the discounted $99 offer) in time to take advantage of them.

No formal enforcement action was taken at the meeting; supervisors discussed making a board request or resolution for the requested reporting if APB does not provide the information voluntarily.
