Jonathan Edwards, presenter of the Nash County update, said Nash County Senior Services recently celebrated a groundbreaking for an expansion of the Nash Senior Center that will add an exercise room, classroom space and a game room.
County officials announced the expansion as part of ongoing efforts to broaden programming and amenities for older residents. The additional space is intended to support fitness and educational activities and provide social opportunities for seniors in Nash County.
Senior Services also extended its holiday "cheer" supply drive for seniors in need. Donations of basic household necessities are being accepted through Dec. 6 at the Nash Senior Center, the Nash County Administration Building, Cooley Library and the State Employees Credit Union in Nashville. Jonathan Edwards provided the county contact email (info@nashcountync.gov) for those seeking more information.
Officials did not provide a total budget, construction timeline or contractor details in the update. Those specifics were not specified in the bulletin; county residents seeking further detail were directed to the contact email for Senior Services and county administration.
The county encouraged community donations and said additional information is available by email.
