Board told to budget $2,500 CSN license fee; ISAC/ICTS change would charge each county

The Chippewa County Board of Supervisors was asked Dec. 29 to plan for a possible $2,500 annual software license fee for the Community Service Network (CSN). The chair summarized an email from ISAC/ICTS stating that in fiscal year 2027 the CSN license will change to a flat fee of $2,500 per county, beginning July 1, and that the fee would not limit the number of users or entities.

The chair said the fee request is not yet a bill but that county budget planners should include the $2,500 amount in their FY26–27 worksheets because local mental-health and advocacy staff rely on the system. Board members said they received the ISAC/ICTS notice and acknowledged the request; no vote was taken on the item during the meeting and the chair said they would budget for it as requested.

The board did not specify whether the county had historically paid the license through a partner entity or how the cost would be allocated among county programs, and the chair said he would forward the information to the county attorney and relevant staff.
