Commission approves consent agenda including personnel reclassification and seasonal hire

The Huron City Commission approved its consent agenda, which the chair described as noncontroversial and eligible for one-time action unless a commissioner requested removal.

Items on the consent agenda included minutes from Dec. 22, 2025; two personnel items (acceptance of the reclassification of Shawna J. Starrett to human resources director, effective Jan. 1, 2026, at grade 23, step J; and approval of the seasonal employment of Carissa Schroeder as a parks recreation assistant); addition of Amy Gaethal to the business improvement district board; fuel quotes for city departments; and payment of bills.

A commissioner moved and a second was given; the commission approved the consent agenda by roll-call vote. No item was removed for separate discussion during this meeting.
