County to consider law-enforcement sublease at gun range pending main agreement

County staff told commissioners the agenda for the next meeting includes a two-part item concerning a local gun range: an underlying agreement with a Game and Anglers group to continue operation of the range through 2026, and a county sublease covering law-enforcement use.

At the briefing a staff speaker said the county’s item is “just the sublease for the law enforcement side of it” and that its approval is secondary to completion of the primary agreement between the Game and Anglers group and the county. Staff indicated some details of the main agreement were still being finalized and that it was unclear whether the primary agreement would be ready for the next meeting.

Commissioners asked procedural questions and were told staff would bring the fully executed documents when available. No formal action on the sublease was recorded at the briefing; staff said they expect the underlying agreement to determine the timing of the county sublease.
