CTA reports operations and outreach; FTA 5339 application not selected

CTA operations staff reported November activities including winter driving refresher training, human‑trafficking training, driver skills assessments, and outreach with Mountain Oaks High School to teach students how to use transit and plan trips. Staff also noted road-construction impacts continue to create operational challenges in parts of the county.

Executive Director Roger reported the CTA was not selected for the FTA 5339 competitive grant; he said 165 agencies across 45 states received funding. "The FTA 5339 grant came in, and we were not selected," he said, and staff have requested a debrief to review application scoring and plan improvements for future rounds. Roger told the board the agency will pursue other opportunities including the USDOT BUILD program and state infrastructure grants.
