Commissioners award $1.37 million in contracts for two bridge replacements

Tippecanoe County commissioners voted Dec. 29 to award two bridge replacement projects to Milestone after the Highway Department reviewed five bids.

Speaker 4 (Doug), representing the Highway Department, told the board that the department "received reviewed the 5 bids" for replacement of bridges labeled 1 22 and 1 49 and that "all the bids were determined to be in order and without mathematical error." County staff recommended awarding the projects to Milestone with a combined contract value of $1,371,395 and approval of the bid bond for the projects.

Speaker 3 moved to award the bridge projects to Milestone and to approve the bid bond. The board voted 'Aye' and the motion passed.

The board did not discuss an explicit construction start date at the meeting. County staff indicated the projects will proceed following usual post‑award contracting steps.
