San Juan County holds CDBG project hearing; no members of public testified

San Juan County commissioners opened a public hearing Dec. 30 to solicit project ideas for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, giving residents an opportunity to suggest projects the county might apply for. County staff explained the hearing was a public listening session — not the county’s decision point — and noted a broad range of activities are eligible, including public works, water and sewer projects and public services.

No members of the public signed up to speak in person, and a single online participant did not provide testimony during the hearing. After staff closed the public comment period, a commissioner moved to end the hearing and the motion passed on an affirmative voice vote.

The county noted any CDBG projects the public wishes to propose may be submitted through the usual application process and that separate minutes for this hearing will be maintained as required by program rules.
