CSLB approves expansion of CMA account and directs distribution of 2026 CMA grant awards

The Contractors State License Board on Nov. 17 approved a staff recommendation to distribute the 2026 CMA grant awards and expand the CMA account by $255,000. Speaker 3 moved the action to direct staff to distribute the awards according to the staff representation in the board packet; the motion was seconded and passed by roll call.

Board members recorded their votes during the roll call. Miguel Valerzeth, Alan Guy, Joel Barton, Amanda Gallo, Daniel Lowe, David Lopez, Michael Mark, Henry Nutt and Lee Fenellis were recorded during the roll call as voting in favor. The board chair announced the motion carried.

The board noted the Department of Finance had approved the $255,000 expansion from the CMA account. No amendments were proposed during the discussion and the board proceeded to the next agenda item.

The committee then closed the licensing/testing portion of the meeting and moved on to program updates.
