District reports turf field passed G‑Max safety testing after spot repairs

District maintenance staff reported to the board that the synthetic turf on the football field underwent G‑Max testing and targeted repairs. The G‑Max test measures the field’s ability to absorb impact; operations staff said the field passed testing and crews addressed small areas where inlaid pieces were loosening (SEG 554-566; 578-586).

“G Max test is basically, the test of how hard when a head hits the turf, is it soft enough to absorb the blow at a safe level?” the district operations presenter explained, describing the testing process and follow‑up work (SEG 554-556). He said the district installed the field in 2019, that it is about halfway through its expected useful life and that the recent maintenance will help prolong that life (SEG 562-567; 616-623).

Board members asked whether testing is required at a set interval; staff said there is not a universal requirement and districts often test based on condition and use, adding the last local test dated to 2021 (SEG 636-652). The board did not take action beyond acceptance of the report.
