County receives biennial sexual-assault response team report, staff to forward to governor's task force

County officials received the mandated biennial report on sexual-assault response services during the Nov. 24 meeting. Suzanne Tomerlin of Hill Country Crisis Council summarized activities from Oct. 2023 through Sept. 2025, reporting 28 accompaniments to forensic exams, 104 clients provided counseling and advocacy, 29 shelter placements and partnership metrics with regional law enforcement and medical providers.

Tom erlin explained the report is required by state statute enacted in 2021 and said she will email the county-accepted report to the Office of the Governor’s survivor task force. Commissioners moved to receive the report and recorded a unanimous vote to do so. County staff and commissioners thanked the advocacy group for coordination during the flood recovery period and noted plans to expand SART meeting participation regionally in 2026.
