Road administrator reports cleanup, equipment needs and names assistant; commissioners approve report

Uvalde County's road administrator presented a report covering work from Nov. 6–19, including grading and repairs on multiple county roads, brush and tree removal, pothole patching, equipment movements between yards, and post-flood debris removal at Majors Crossing. The report also described a roadside cleanup after an eviction along Highway 1051 that required a loader, four roll-offs, four employees and sheriff assistance, with collected items stored at the county yard for 40 days before final disposition.

The administrator announced the appointment of Cody Taylor as assistant road administrator, effective Dec. 1, 2025, to assist with day-to-day operations and supervise the work outlined in the report. During questions from a commissioner, the administrator said "one of our water trucks is down with the steering boxes" and noted a roll-off truck had recently received an in-frame overhaul. He agreed to include equipment-repair status and estimated timelines in future reports.

The commissioners moved to approve the road-administrator report and voted to accept it by voice vote.
