Grant County magistrates approve body scanner purchase using opioid settlement funds

Grant County magistrates unanimously approved a claim against the county’s opioid settlement fund to purchase a body scanner for the Grant County Detention Center.

At the special meeting, the presiding official introduced the item and said transfers dated Dec. 23, 2025, had been prepared from the opioid settlement fund for the equipment purchase. "I make a motion to approve the claim this afternoon against the opioid settlement fund with the transfers presented dated 12/23/2025 to purchase the body scanner for the Great County Detention Center," said Magistrate Riley, who moved the motion. Magistrate Humphrey seconded. After members voiced their agreement the presiding official stated the motion carried.
