After executive session Brimfield trustees send final offer to Local 4031 and forward assistant fire chief contract for approval

After convening three executive sessions, the Brimfield Board of Trustees returned to public session and voted to advance two personnel matters. The board voted to send its final offer on terms and conditions to Local 4031; if the union signs and returns the agreement, the board will complete signatures and the contract would take effect Jan. 1.

The board also voted to send proposed terms for a successor contract to Assistant Fire Chief Ron Goodspeed (his current agreement ends Dec. 31). The board said the Goodspeed terms match the approach used for the other contracts under consideration and that once Goodspeed signs, the board will finalize its signature and the agreement will take effect Jan. 1.

Both actions were approved after executive session by roll call votes with Sue and Nick recorded as 'Yes.' No board member opposed during the public session; final execution of both agreements is contingent on signatures from the counterparties.
