City of Bandera adjusts November meeting dates and confirms canvassing plan

During requests and announcements, an unidentified council member noted an email from "Jill" proposing the next meeting be moved from Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) to Nov. 12; members indicated agreement with the change.

The council also decided to cancel the second meeting in November because it falls during the week of Thanksgiving; as a result, the council will meet once in November and again in December.

Unidentified Speaker 3 said that if canvassing materials are returned by Andrea by the 12th, the council will perform canvass duties at that meeting. The speaker noted that, depending on election results, a judge will later administer oaths to newly elected members at the first December meeting. Other members recalled that last year canvassing was pushed back and the council was not ready for a scheduled meeting; one speaker offered to coordinate a small team (two people) if needed to complete canvassing.

The changes are scheduling and procedural; no votes on ordinances, contracts, or budgets were taken in connection with these scheduling items.
