Board approves consent agenda, field trips and voting‑machine lease; policies receive first reading

During the Dec. 17 meeting the Middle Country Central School District Board of Education approved routine business items and advanced two district policies to first reading.

The board accepted the minutes from its Dec. 3 meeting and moved to approve the consent agenda covering instructional, pupil‑personnel, personnel (instructional and classified) and finance items; the chair called for the vote and the motion carried. The superintendent’s routine agenda items included a motion to approve field trips (reference 25‑12‑S.R.‑6) and a motion to approve a lease agreement for voting machines with the Suffolk County Board of Elections (reference 25‑12‑S.R.‑7); both motions were moved, seconded and the board voted to carry them.

The board also held a first reading of district policies 5,460 (child abuse, maltreatment or neglect in a domestic setting) and 5,550 (student privacy). No vote on those policies was recorded; the items were advanced as a first reading.
