Representative McCormick (R-Ga.) presented two proposals to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform during the member-day hearing.
On federal spending, McCormick described the "Incentivized Savings Act," which would redirect 49% of unspent annual agency funds toward debt and deficit reduction, roll 49% forward to the next fiscal year, and allocate 2% for staff bonuses as a reward for efficiency. He framed the bill as a voluntary, non-punitive alternative to "use it or lose it" budgeting and urged bipartisan support.
McCormick also described "HR 6211, the Medical Professional Access Act," which he said would allow medical professionals to practice across state lines without additional credentialing during declared emergencies (governor or presidential declarations), removing duplicative credential reviews in urgent circumstances.
The committee chair thanked McCormick for the visit and said the proposals sounded like common-sense ideas to explore; no committee action occurred during the member-day hearing.
