Penn Manor update to Millersville Council: new half‑credit courses planned for 2026–27

A Penn Manor representative reported to the Millersville Borough Council that the district is expanding its course schedule for the 2026–27 school year to include nearly 30 half-credit marking-period classes alongside semester and year-long offerings.

The speaker said the new courses — examples included introductory weight training, history of sports in America, modern global trends, business and entrepreneurship, social psychology and introduction to guitar — are intended to broaden students’ opportunities and make it easier to mix and match classes. More details will be released during course selection in January and February.

The representative also noted recent athletic successes: the girls’ soccer team reached the state playoffs (top 16) and the field hockey team reached the state final four. The district shared that the fall play ran on Nov. 21–22.
