At its regular meeting the Forest Hills Board of Education approved the consent agenda that included HR actions (retirements, resignations, appointments and volunteers) and accepted the treasurer’s monthly report for November.
Human resources: HR presenter Lisa thanked retiring staff (Sue Price and Tina Reynolds), summarized resignations and a forthcoming leave of absence, and noted approximately 48 appointments listed for approval. She also mentioned a job description update and volunteer approvals included in the consent agenda.
Treasurer’s report: the treasurer reported November donations and October financial forecasts, noting the district receives primary monthly state aid of $1,700,000. At the end of November the district had cash available to operate for 146 days and, after encumbrances, had 121 days of unreserved cash. The treasurer also noted about $685,000 of pending sign-offs on last year’s summer projects and projected investment earnings near $2,300,000 by June 30, subject to interest-rate movement.
Data system presentation: separate from the consent items, district presenters described a proposed service agreement with Aubrey, a student-data system that allows staff to view multiple data points simultaneously to identify trends. Presenters acknowledged Aubrey is a significant expense but said some existing funds (from DataMap, digital hub partnerships and career-tech funds) could be repurposed to offset costs. The board heard the request to approve the service agreement effective Jan. 1.
What’s next: consent agenda items 8.1–11.1 were approved; staff will bring backing documents for Aubrey if the board moves forward with a formal approval on the service agreement.
