Treasurer Alicia Bauer presented a proposed budget modification to the CEC 28 membership during the business portion of the Dec. 4 meeting.
Bauer explained that a few member reimbursements were unclaimed due to vacancies or members not using funds; she proposed reallocating those amounts (including a $250 allocation for a principal legislative breakfast and an $875 reallocation from unused member reimbursements) and displayed the revised total on a shared spreadsheet. A motion to approve the budget changes was made and seconded during the meeting.
Council members used the business session to discuss operational items including posting vacancies, establishing committee meeting schedules (outreach, safety and other committees previously formed are expected to meet), and continued planning for upcoming capital-plan engagement with SCA and elected officials. Council members also noted recent community outreach successes: an outreach “Harvest of Hope” distribution that served about 120 families and a highly attended middle- and high-school admissions fair.
Why it matters: The reallocations are administrative but reflect how a small local council manages limited discretionary funds and supports events and committee work.
Next steps: The treasurer will finalize the budget modification and post the updated budget; committee chairs and members will schedule meetings and continue coordination around capital-plan priorities and vacancy outreach.
