The Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved Resolution 43-25 to amend the FY2026 grant fund budget and appropriate $13,700 from the Tennessee training equipment grant program for police-department equipment.
Mr. Phoebus, identified in the record as the director of finance, was recognized for the item and the board voted to accept the funds and appropriate the amount. The resolution was recorded as passing unanimously.
The board also approved a four-item consent agenda by a unanimous 6-0 vote. The consent items read into the record were: dispense with the second board meeting in December; accept the October 2025 financial report; authorize purchase of a 2026 Ford F-250 (vehicle model noted in agenda); and approve purchase of employee applicant software. The transcript records the consent agenda passing 6-0.
On first reading the board considered Ordinance 25-09, a rezoning request discussed by Kim Taylor, who said the request would change density from roughly 2 lots per acre to 2.5 lots per acre because part of the land is encumbered by a non-buildable stream. The board set the public hearing on Ordinance 25-09 for Jan. 13, 2026.
Council and staff closed the meeting with seasonal announcements: a Storybook Christmas parade is scheduled for Dec. 6 at 4:00 p.m. (new route along Kirby Whitten) and several holiday concerts and exhibits were noted by the Bartlett Arts Council and other community groups.
