Chelsea Aberdian, the district’s director of finance and human resources, presented the board with a July–November financial summary showing revenue of roughly $10.4 million and expenditures near $15 million.
"Of that 10,400,000.0 revenue, 5.7 is from state. 2.7 is from local," Aberdian said, and told the board the district received its Polk County payment of about $1,800,000 two weeks earlier than usual, which improved short‑term cash and interest timing.
On the expenditure side, Aberdian said salaries and benefits are the district’s largest cost, accounting for more than 70% and approaching 80% of monthly outlays. She also noted that some utility bills arrived in batches covering multiple months (July through October), which increased the month’s reported expenditures.
Aberdian told the board the district will present its first budget revision for the 2025‑26 school year in January and will hold a finance workshop in February to review details and recommendations.
Board members asked clarifying questions about large line items (insurance premiums and capital spending) and thanked staff for work toward fiscal sustainability.
