Kevin Morin, the customer service division manager for Lake Havasu City, described the scope of his office's work on a brief city-produced segment, saying the department handles meter reading, utility billing, customer assistance, business licensing and vacation rental permitting.
Morin said he works closely with a team that addresses billing issues and customer concerns and that the group is ‘‘constantly developing’’ the city website to post billing calendars and payment due dates so residents can find up-to-date information. He said those changes are intended "to make their life easier and be as transparent as possible in customer service."
Asked about his ties to the area, Morin said he was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, left for a time when "McCulloch decided to move operations away from Havasu," and returned full time in 2013 with his wife to raise a family. On routine inquiries, he offered a light anecdote: in late July and early August many residents call wondering why the water from their tap is hot.
Morin also noted that the department has introduced new technology for both utility operations and business licensing, including permitting for mobile food vendors, and he encouraged listeners to consult the city's website for details on services and deadlines. The brief interview aired as part of the city's "Faces of Havasu" segment.
