Board accepts County Highway 2 paving project as certified at $2.768 million

County staff reported the County Highway 2 paving project — running from the east limits of Eitson through the county, into Iowa and back into Minnesota — completed with a certified work amount of $2,768,214.37 against an original contract of $2,801,601.74. Staff highlighted improvements including 12‑foot paved lanes plus 2‑foot paved shoulders where previously shoulders were gravel.

Commissioners commented that the extra pavement and paved shoulders were positive improvements for the corridor. A motion to accept the contract and certify work was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
