Recreation commission approves October minutes; staff lists events and center plans

The Corte Madera Recreation Commission approved the minutes from the October meeting in a consent-agenda vote. Recording staff read a roll call: Commissioner Hoskins, Commissioner Rose, Commissioner Zmeck, Mister Hanson and Chair Miles were recorded 'yes'; Commissioner Stoller and Commissioner Condrey were recorded absent. No substantive debate accompanied the consent vote.

Staff provided a series of routine updates: a volleyball recognition event was held last week; the Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thanksgiving morning with volunteer needs; the quarter-mile art show is slated for Dec. 6'17 with 29 artists confirmed; a gingerbread house event is full with a wait list and staff are adding more spots. Staff also said the town signed a contract for the Middle East International Center and intends to open the space in 2026; staff will bring staffing and layout plans to commissioners for review.

In committee business, the Eastfield ad-hoc subcommittee awaits final design work; staff said planned field improvements (a grass seed change and a 20-yard extension for wear management) are targeted to begin in early 2026. The commission closed by reviewing future agenda items and confirming upcoming meeting dates.
