The Mapleton City Council approved its consent agenda Dec. 18 after a motion by Councilmember Jones and a second from Councilman Beck. A roll‑call style response recorded "yes" votes from Carlson, Edgar, Beck, Jones and Garrett before the motion passed.
Shortly afterward staff informed the council that the city's audit report arrived roughly an hour before the meeting and recommended continuing the audit presentation so the city can submit required materials to the state and present to the council at a later date. Councilmember Jones moved to continue the presentation and Councilmember Egbert seconded; recorded votes in favor included Egbert, Beck, Jones, Garrett and Carlson and the council carried the motion to defer the audit presentation to the next meeting, where it will be presented formally.
Clarifying detail: staff said the audit report "came late" and must still be submitted to the state before year end; the council did not receive the full audit packet in time and therefore postponed the presentation. No changes to city finances or audit findings were discussed at the Dec. 18 meeting.
