Neighborhood Advisory Board gets a refresher on roles and agenda procedures; routine items approved

Cal Shire (staff liaison) provided a brief training to remind board members of the NAB’s advisory role, what can be raised under announcements versus agenda items, and open‑meeting rules that limit substantive deliberation outside an agendized item. The staff liaison directed members to resources including the board secretary guide on reno.gov/boards and reminded members to confirm attendance for quarterly quorum checks.

The board adopted the meeting agenda and approved prior meeting minutes by voice motion (a second was recorded for the agenda approval: Don White). Staff highlighted upcoming dates including the next planning commission meeting (Jan. 7), city council (Jan. 14) and the NAB meeting (Jan. 15); staff also reminded members that officer elections will be on the January agenda.
