Commission hears staff updates on upcoming permits and downtown overlay work

At the Dec. 18 meeting staff provided updates on administrative and planning work expected in January.

Planner (Speaker 7) said the city had received an application for a Garden Drive Bridal Center (zoned CH) and that a use-permit application for a concrete batch plant may be submitted; staff also said ad-hoc recommendations for municipal-code changes and a downtown historic overlay design-guidelines update are being prepared to present in January. Staff requested committee input on draft ordinance language and said improvement-plan drawings for the Ruddy Creek subdivision were included in the packet.

In commission reports, members praised downtown holiday events and promotions; staff announced a personnel update: Kylie passed six months in her role and was promoted from assistant to associate. The commission adjourned to January 2026 at 6 p.m.
