City to replace locks; 2026 pickleball/tennis keys available for $20

Staff announced that locks at the city’s pickleball and tennis courts will be changed in January and that 2026 access keys are on sale at town hall for $20 each for the year.

"You can buy your key now for $20 here at town hall," said Speaker 4. Staff confirmed the same key works for both the town’s pickleball and tennis courts but does not open courts in other jurisdictions (El Dorado, Union Mine, Ponderosa or the bell tower courts). Staff also said keys are sold annually and are not recycled; buyers receive access through the end of the year listed.

Why it matters: The change affects regular court users who rely on keys for late-night access. The $20 annual fee is intended to cover lock replacement and administration.
