Sierra Vista Fire appeals for toys, cash for Firefighters Christmas Drive

Michelle Canuto, speaking on KWCD’s First Watch, said Sierra Vista Fire’s Firefighters Christmas Drive has completed sign-ups and is collecting new, unwrapped toys, gift cards and cash donations to serve children aged 0–12. Donors can drop items at fire stations or use weekly donation remotes; a drive-up option provides tax receipts to donors.

Canuto outlined volunteer opportunities: 'bag and tag' sessions on Dec. 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Station 1 on Bridal Boulevard, with deliveries beginning Dec. 21 at 8:00 a.m. Volunteers will receive family addresses to deliver packages directly. Canuto said cash donations allow organizers to fill gaps or buy extras locally.

She described remotes as community events with food and therapy dogs and encouraged residents to stop by to see trucks and meet firefighters. Canuto stressed that the program has served the community for more than 50 years and thanked local volunteers and donors for sustaining the drive.
