Pottawattamie County's board voted Dec. 13 to accept a dedication of right-of-way for Stony Brook Drive Phase 4 under Resolution No. 73-2025.
County engineer Andy Wicks said Robert and Jenny Mings dedicated the parcel to the county and that the county will maintain the parcel as a roadway through secondary roads rather than completing a quitclaim or money transfer. "We decided that a dedication of right away would be the easiest and forward. We wouldn't have to do any money transfers," Wicks said.
A motion and second were made on the resolution and the board approved it by roll call; the clerk recorded votes as aye. The resolution takes the parcel into the county's maintenance program.
The action formally adds the parcel to the county road system; no separate signing by the board chair was required because the dedication was signed by the property owners and the resolution memorializes the acceptance.
