Fiscal Court approves consent agenda; clerk issues election reminders

The Hardin County Fiscal Court approved its multi-item consent agenda on Nov. 25, which included the acceptance of Foxwood Subdivision into the county maintenance road system (Resolution 2-21), library board appointment Kevin Addington (Resolution 2-22), Hardin County Extension Board appointments (Resolution 2-23), several personnel items affecting 9-1-1, EMS and the road department (Resolutions 2-24, 2-25, 2-27), and maintenance/service agreements (Resolutions 2-28, 2-30, 2-31) including battery-backup coverage and EMS equipment service plans (totaling roughly $23,000 and $26,000 for two items described at the meeting).

The court also approved the minutes from committee meetings held during the month. Judge Executive read the items into the record, and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote that resulted in approval.

County Clerk Brian Smith then briefed the court on 2026 election deadlines: the filing deadline for offices that will have a primary is Jan. 9, 2026 at 4 p.m.; the deadline for offices without a primary is June 2 at 4 p.m.; and Dec. 31 is the deadline to change party affiliation to be eligible to vote in a party primary. Clerk Smith directed residents to the state site (govote.ky.gov) or to the clerk’s office to check filing and voter registration details.

Members closed the meeting with committee reminders and Thanksgiving wishes before adjourning.
