Council adopts resolution to formalize meeting bylaws after brief discussion

At SEG 1306–1309 the council considered a packet item authorizing the mayor to sign a resolution adopting bylaws. Speaker 2 moved to approve the resolution and Speaker 3 seconded.

A council member asked that stakeholder voices (Debbie Stock and Greg Cottle were named) be given an opportunity on the record rather than via ex parte communications; that request prompted a note that the item could be continued to the January 5 meeting for additional stakeholder comment. The council proceeded to vote.

During roll call, Rodriguez recorded a 'no' vote; Jingula, Reynolds, Haberfield and Griffin recorded 'yes' votes and the chair announced the motion carried. No amendment or further conditions were added; the resolution as moved was adopted.

The council identified that additional discussion by stakeholders could be scheduled and that relevant parties would be contacted if continuation were needed. The clerk will reflect the adopted resolution in the official minutes and packet materials.
