Eastern York SD board swears in five directors, elects Doug R. Bailey Jr. president

Eastern York School District on Thursday held its reorganization meeting, swearing in five newly elected directors and electing board officers for the coming year.

At the start of the session the board administered the oath of office to Brian F. Fink (Eastern York Region 1), Tanya Brubaker (two-year term), James E. Reese (Region 2), Richard F. Zepp (Region 2) and Doug R. Bailey Jr. (Region 3). “I do solemnly swear or affirm … I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity,” the new members repeated as oaths were administered.

Following roll call with the newly seated trustees, the board nominated and elected Doug R. Bailey Jr. as board president by voice vote. The board also elected a nominee identified in the record as “Seth” to serve as vice president after a voice vote.

The board named representatives to external committees and authorities for the year: Mr. Zepp as state legislative liaison, members to the York County tax collection committee, Adams Academy, York County School of Technology authority and other joint-authority assignments. Current operations committee chair Mr. Livingston was confirmed for the coming year.

Members closed the reorganization portion of the meeting by approving standard procedural items and scheduling upcoming meetings for January.
