Brookshire schedules Jan. 15 town hall for proposed 200,000-sq.-ft. 12th Street development

Brookshire, Texas — The Brookshire City Council on Dec. 18 set a town-hall meeting for Jan. 15, 2026, at 6 p.m. to discuss a proposed 12th Street development after staff described preliminary design work and right-of-way needs.

City staff told the council that a logistics/manufacturing developer is proposing to build a roughly 200,000-square-foot facility on 12th Street and that roadway widening will be necessary to accommodate truck traffic. An initial design from consulting firm LJA was included in the council packet; staff said private property owners along parts of the corridor may be asked to donate additional right-of-way where undeveloped land exists, and that residents with existing structures would not be affected according to the packet's design.

Council members discussed available dates; staff recommended three Jan. dates and noted the developers were available to attend the town hall to meet residents and explain the proposal. The council selected Jan. 15, 2026, at 6 p.m. and instructed staff to publish the notice in the local paper and on the city website.

The town hall will allow residents to review the initial widening concept, ask questions about traffic and property impacts, and hear from developers and staff prior to any formal land-use or zoning actions.
