Committee on Council approves Keith Lamar for Ethics Board seat

Chair Isha Collins moved and the committee approved a resolution appointing Keith Lamar to the City of Atlanta Ethics Board as the Gate City Bar Association representative for a three‑year term.

Mr. Overton introduced the item (825R4217) as a resolution by the Committee on Council to appoint Lamar, with the term to commence upon approval. Keith Lamar addressed the committee, saying he is from Atlanta and describing his legal background, including service as a former deputy district attorney in Fulton County and current private practice. “I’m never gonna leave,” Lamar said, adding, “I’m a lifer,” and expressing eagerness to serve.

Vice Chair Bhatiari seconded the motion to approve, and the committee voted 6–0 in favor; staff noted the item will move forward to the full council agenda and that Mr. Lamar need not be present for the full council vote.
