Parks and Recreation Director Cassie told the trustees she had submitted a written resignation and requested board approval; she said her last day will be Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. Trustees expressed appreciation for her service and moved to accept the resignation; the motion passed by roll call.
Cassie described legacy projects and operations that remain active, including Messner Acres (approximately 27 acres on Klein Road) — a conservation parcel donated by Western Reserve Land Conservancy — where staff removed tires, scrap and dilapidated barns and improved trails. She also asked trustees to assign oversight for facility rentals, the Tour of Lights holiday contest and community classes (senior fitness and scrapbooking) after her departure.
Trustees praised Cassie’s work on park expansions and trail improvements and noted operational items to transfer, including AED storage, rental management and social-media posting for events. No replacement was named at the meeting.
