Navasota Board of Adjustment confirms leadership; Kathleen Dimel named vice chair

The Navasota Board of Adjustment on Dec. 10 took up Item 1 of its agenda to appoint a chair and vice chair for the board.

The chair opened the discussion, noting a vacancy in the chair position after the prior chair opted not to serve in the current term and that Mr. Phillips remained the vice chair. Board members proceeded with nominations. A board member stated, "I'll call you as chairperson," which was seconded, and the board carried the motion by voice vote to appoint a chair (the transcript does not record the appointed chair's full name). For vice chair, a board member nominated Kathleen Dimel and another member seconded the nomination; the board approved the nomination by voice vote.

Board members discussed the preference that chair and vice chair be regular members who attend meetings per ordinance. After completing leadership appointments the board proceeded to the public hearing on a zoning variance and other routine business.
