Council confirms Joseph M. Gurley as city prosecutor and assistant law director

Mentor-on-the-Lake — The City Council on Dec. 4 confirmed Joseph M. Gurley as city prosecutor and assistant law director, affirming his contract, determining compensation and declaring the resolution an emergency. Council moved to suspend the rules before taking the final vote.

Council members said Gurley has worked for the city in prior capacities and is familiar with the city’s procedures. Missus Moore moved to suspend the rules; Mr. Gray seconded the motion, and the suspension carried by roll call. The subsequent roll call on the resolution recorded all members voting "aye," and the presiding officer announced the resolution passed.
